What does it take for someone to go to Heaven? It takes faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. A few verses that show that clearly are:

  • Romans 10:9-10, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt BELIEVE IN THINE HEART that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
  • Acts 16:31, “And they said, BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”
  • Ephesians 2:8-9, “FOR BY GRACE ARE YE SAVED THROUGH FAITH; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

When it comes to salvation, there is no difference between the Jews and the Gentiles. All who come to Christ in faith will be saved.

  • Romans 10:12-13 tells us, “For there is NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE JEW AND THE GREEK: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
  • Romans 3:22 says, “Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon ALL THEM THAT BELIEVE: for there is NO DIFFERENCE.”
  • Galatians 2:15-16 says, “WE WHO ARE JEWS by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, EVEN WE HAVE BELIEVED in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”
  • Galatians 3:27-29 tells us, “For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is NEITHER JEW NOR GREEK, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

Scripture is crystal clear. Salvation is open to any and all who will bow their knee and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Our God is so gracious. He welcomes ALL. (287.10)
