Let’s begin by reading 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but YE ARE WASHED, but YE ARE SANCTIFIED, but YE ARE JUSTIFIED in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” For those who put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ…you have been washed, you have been sanctified, you have been justified.  While you may have been a fornicator, or an idolater, an adulterer, an effeminate person, etc. once you accept Christ as your savior you are no longer the same person.  It really does not matter what you have done in the past, when you put your faith in the Lord Jesus ALL your sins have been washed away.

2 Corinthians 5:17 assures us, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a NEW CREATURE: OLD THINGS ARE PASSED AWAY; behold, ALL THINGS ARE BECOME NEW.” When you are saved, you become a brand new person!  All the old things in your life are GONE.  You are new in your standing before the Lord.  When we are saved we become “the righteousness of God”, as we read in 2 Corinthians 5:21, “For he hath made him (Christ) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”  It is only when we come to realize who we are in Christ Jesus, that we can truly rest in and enjoy this new life.

We are assured by God’s Word that believers on the Lord Jesus will NEVER be condemned by God.  Romans 8:1 tells us plainly, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus…”  NO CONDEMNATION!  Our sins have been paid for by the Lord Jesus Christ.  How could God condemn us for sins that the Lord Jesus has already suffered and died for?  As believers, we will not stand before the Lord in judgment.  We read in Revelation 20:12, “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”  It is those who are ‘spiritually dead’ that are judged at the Great White Throne judgment.  The believer’s sins have already been judged. We read in 1 John 4:17, “Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have BOLDNESS IN THE DAY OF JUDGMENT: because as he is, so are we in this world.” Because Christ is holy, we are also holy, and can be hold on the day of God’s judgment because we know He will not be judging us.  He will be judging the unsaved, those who have rejected Christ as their savior.

The Lord Jesus assured His disciples that their “…names are written in heaven.” (Luke 10:20).  Speaking of the true believers, the Lord Jesus said in Revelation 3:5, “He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I WILL NOT BLOT OUT HIS NAME OUT OF THE BOOK OF LIFE, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.”  This is the security of the believer, that the Lord will not blot your name out of the book of life and that He will confess your name before His Father.  (413.4)
