We read in Colossians 1:16, “For by him (Christ) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, VISIBLE AND INVISIBLE, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him.”

The Lord created all things.  Some were meant to be seen, some were not.  All things in heaven and earth!  The angels are part of God’s creation.  They are an invisible part of His creation.  Psalm 104:4 tells us the Lord, “maketh his angels spirits…”  Unless the Lord allows one of His angels to take on a visible form to fulfill His purposes, angels are invisible spirits.

God, of course, is invisible as we read in 1 Timothy 1:17, “Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.”  The Lord Jesus Christ “is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature.” (Colossians 1:15).  It was actually in the person of Christ that the angels were able to look upon God for the first time.  1 Timothy 3:16 says, “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, SEEN OF ANGELS, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”

That which is invisible simply cannot be seen.  There are no ‘mystical’ cameras that can show the image of that which is invisible.  I believe that is simply the creation of novel writers or Hollywood script writers.  I suppose there can be obscure images in pictures that some have claimed are angels, but that defies the very definition of invisible.  Sadly, some have had pictures with a ‘so-called’ angel in them and they have sought to make money by showing off the pictures to others.

Let us realize this…if the Lord had wanted us to see His angels, He would have created them visible instead of invisible.  (CC)  (501.2)
