In Matthew 15:1-13, what is the extra oil? The foolish took no oil, but their lamps went out, so they must have had oil in the lamps. So, if oil is the Holy Spirit how do you take extra oil with you in your vessels?

When Jesus raised the 12-year-old girl from the dead, it says that only Peter, James and John were with Him. So how do the books of Matthew and Mark have this account in them? Or are their books full of all the stories that were just commonly told and not necessarily firsthand, witnessed accounts?

Is this the real translation of Matthew 6:26, “…the believer looks at the birds in the sky, that do not reap nor gather into the barns, and trust that the Father will provide.”? In this verse Jesus tells his followers not to be anxious about food, but to rely on God as the birds, who are worth far less than people, are fully provided for.” It seems to me it is putting humans on a higher level than nature, which is disturbing to me. It seems the original Aramaic and indeed Jesus the Christ would not say such a thing. I believe Jesus the Christ cared about all life as being a precious gift.

I have a question about Jesus being tempted by Satan. My question is: How was the debate, since Jesus was in flesh but Satan is a spirit?

In the book of Jonah it doesn’t speak of a whale. Instead it speaks of a great fish. However, in Matthew, Jesus specifically calls it a whale, yet scholars still say that it was not a whale and the Aramaic translation says a great fish. So, whom do we believe?

With all the talk about war and natural disasters such as volcanic activity in Alaska, the fires in Australia and earthquakes around the world, I feel worried. This reminds me of the end of times described in the Bible and the events leading up to it. Am I wrong for feeling worried?

Today, some are reading Matthew 17:5-6 and teaching that the Lord is talking about believers in these verses instead of talking about the Lord Jesus. Was God talking about Jesus or was He talking about us?

Does Matthew 5:28 imply that a Christian man in a committed relationship or marriage shouldn’t desire anyone other than his partner? As in not even being aroused by or attracted to another female? And if so, are there any Christian men that have succeeded at holding true to this with their partners? Or is a man regardless of his faith always going to have some degree of a wondering eye, even if they make their best efforts to look away once they’ve noticed something tempting?
