1 Timothy 5:8 says, “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” I have always been surprised by this verse. How can not providing for oneself or family be worse than being without faith as an unbeliever? I am aware that 2 Thessalonians 3:10 applies to those that were becoming lazy and quit working while they were waiting for the rapture but I don’t know about the context of 1 Timothy 5:8.

Hebrews 12:17 and Hebrews 10:26 sounds like if you sin after accepting Christ as your savior that God won’t forgive you, even though you seek forgiveness with many tears.
