I consider myself a kind person who is always helping other people out and I pray for everyone else too. But there is one prayer for myself that God is not answering. I have 4 children and one of my sons has a bad drinking problem which is getting worse and I am scared for him. The Bible says if you pray believing and in Jesus’ name it will be given to you. My son needs God’s help so please explain to me why God hasn’t answered my prayer for my son. I am a mother with a broken heart.

Does Scripture ever tell us to cease from praying for a loved one? I don’t believe so. What I’ve found in Scripture is to pray without ceasing. I pray for salvation for my unsaved family almost daily. But I know those who ‘feel’ that God has stopped directing them to pray for someone.

Why was God so concerned about ASA for not turning to him for healing? There are so many people today who are not like Asa that turn to God for healing, but they don’t get anything. Why will God want to heal some who prefer physicians more than Him?
