This is a very good question, and I am going to give you a short answer.  To truly learn the Lord’s purpose in your life, to learn what you were truly born to do.  STAY CLOSE TO THE LORD.

Your relationship with the Lord, knowing Him as your savior and walking in fellowship with Him will open you up to hear from Him so that He might guide you in your life.  STAY CLOSE TO THE LORD.

Let us consider the words of Psalm 119:105, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”  As we walk through life, the Word of God is able to guide us in all situations.  We live in a world of spiritual darkness.  God’s Word is a lamp, without which we would stumble around in the dark, stumbling and tripping as we try to find our way.  God’s Word is a light that will keep up from straying.  It will keep us on the path the Lord has for us to walk.  STAY CLOSE TO THE LORD.

Job 28:7 tells us, “There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture’s eye hath not seen.”  There is a path for you to walk.  In your individual life, that path may not be discernable if you are far from the Lord.  STAY CLOSE TO THE LORD.

Luke 9:23 has the invitation of the Lord Jesus, “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”  Surrender your will to the Lord with a true desire to go where He wants you to go and do what He wants you to do.  In following the Lord, we must not be distracted by fleshly desires and lusts.  Keep following Him closely for He knows where He wants you to go, and He will lead you in the proper direction.  STAY CLOSE TO THE LORD.

Luke 22:54 tells us, “Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest’s house. And Peter followed afar off.”  At one point, Peter was afraid.  He was afraid of ridicule and persecution.  Perhaps he feared for his very life.  This caused him to follow the Lord from a distance and this led to his three denials of the Lord.  STAY CLOSE TO THE LORD.

The Lord desires to guide us in every aspect of our lives.  Where we go to school.  What career we should pursue.  What job we should take.  Where we should live.  Who we should marry.  Who should we have as our friends.  Who we should fellowship with. The list goes on and on.  To realize the benefits of the Lord’s desire for us, we must follow Him closely.  The Lord often speaks to us in “a still small voice.” (1 Kings 19:12).  We need to be close so we can hear Him as He speaks to our hearts through His Word.

Psalm 73:28, “But it is good for me to DRAW NEAR TO GOD: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.”

Hebrews 10:22, “Let us DRAW NEAR WITH A TRUE HEART in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.”

I am so encouraged by your desire to know the Lord’s plan for your life.  The Lord will bless your efforts to follow and obey Him.  STAY CLOSE TO THE LORD.  (CC)  (505.4)
