I am really struggling. I have many animals I take care of. What will happen to them when the rapture occurs?
I recently answered the question, “What would happen to my pets if I am raptured?” As we shall see, animals will remain on the earth after the Rapture, and they will live in peace and harmony with man and other animals. But I did tell the inquirer about a letter I wrote to anyone who would visit my house so they would take of our wonderful pet dog. I titled my letter, “TO WHOEVER FINDS THIS” and then I explained to them that Rapture of all believers in Christ to heaven has taken place. (I cited the main Rapture verses…. John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Philippians 3:20-21.) And then I simply said, “Please take care of our pet dog Ranger.” Our dog has since died so I have omitted that request. I would suggest you do something like that, and it is very probable that some “animal lovers” would gladly take them in to care for them. I go on in the letter to tell them how the world will now experience seven years of Tribulation that is outlined in detail in Revelation chapters 6-18, culminating in the return of Christ to earth to establish His 1,000-year Kingdom on earth (see Matthew 24:29-30 and Revelation 19:11-20:6).
In another question I answered I brought out that during the Kingdom Age the earth will experience peace for the first time since the Fall of Man in the Garden of Eden and this peace will include the animal kingdom. It is comforting to animal lovers to know that men and animals will live in perfect harmony with one another. I would like to quote a passage from Isaiah 11:6-9 that teaches us this wonderful truth. “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and A LITTLE CHILD SHALL LEAD THEM. The cow and the bear shall graze together; their young ones shall lie down together; and THE LION SHALL EAT STRAW LIKE THE OX. THE NURSHING CHILD SHALL PLAY BY THE COBRA’S HOME, AND THE WEANED CHILD SHALL PUT HIS HAND IN THE VIPER’S DEN. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.” We can hardly imagine such things for in today’s world: 1) Animals prey on one another for food; 2) Animals sometimes attack and kill humans, and 3) Men hunt animals for sport or for meat. But at that time, they will all live in absolute peace and harmony. Praise the Lord for what He did on the cross in order to bring this about, for we read in Colossians 1:20, “And by Him to RECONCILE ALL THINGS to Himself, by Him whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.” The ALL THINGS that will be reconciled include ALL ANIMALS! I would encourage you to read Romans 8:19-22 to see that these creatures were affected by the Fall of Man but during Christ’s reign they will be “delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.” (DO) (648.3)
