First, let us look at what the Bible says about how to be saved.

  • Romans 10:9, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
  • Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
  • Acts 16:31, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”
  • John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

We could go on and on, showing scriptures that show that it is by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior that one is saved.  It is recognizing your need of a savior…realizing you are a sinner in need of salvation.  It is recognizing that God sent His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus, to die on the cross as payment of your sin debt and accepting that wonderful gift of forgiveness and eternal life by believing on who Christ is and what He has done so that you might be saved.  (Romans 3:23, 6:23; Titus 3:5; John 3:36, etc.)  We are saved by putting our faith in God’s Holy Son as our savior and Lord.  What exactly is faith?  Simply stated, it is taking God at His word…believing what He tells us is true.  The basis of salvation through faith is as old as the Bible itself.  We read in Romans 4:3, “For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.” (Quoted from Genesis 15:6.)  So, faith is simply believing what God has said.  What has He said about how the world was created and how man got here?

  • Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
  • Genesis 1:26-27, “And God said, LET US MAKE MAN IN OUR IMAGE, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So GOD CREATED MAN in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
  • Genesis 5:2, “Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in THE DAY WHEN THEY WERE CREATED.”

We know how the world was formed and how man got here because God has told us in His perfect Word…the Bible.  If we believe in evolution, then we are denying God as creator.  If we deny God as creator, then we lose the realization of our responsibility towards Him and His authority over us.  The unsaved world denies the existence of God and chooses to believe the world and people got here by coincidence and evolution (the changing of animal flesh to human flesh.”  We are warned in 1 Timothy 6:20, “O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of SCIENCE FALSELY SO CALLED.”  One writer said years ago that “True science never contradicts the Bible” and that is so true, however there is a false science that will claim there is no God who created the world or put man on earth.  These ‘false scientists’ have an agenda.  Romans 1:25 tells us of those, “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.”  Denying the existence of God, these people would lie about the existence of God and His role as our creator. 

Can the flesh of animals change into the flesh of humans through time?  1 Corinthians 15:39 is clear, “ALL FLESH IS NOT THE SAME FLESH: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.”  God is our creator.  Through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, He is our savior.  Can a true believer doubt God’s role as creator and believe in evolution?  I suppose even believers can be led astray by ‘science falsely so called’, but one should turn a deaf ear to the ‘wisdom of this world’ (1 Corinthians 3:19) and become familiar with what the Lord tells us in His Word.  Realizing truly that God is our creator, one will have such a deeper appreciation for the Lord…who He is and what He has done.  If someone absolutely refuses the thought that God created us, I would seriously question that person’s salvation.  (CC)  (743.2)
