We are told in 1 John 4:1, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” We are told in Romans 16:19, “I want you to be WISE in what is GOOD, and SIMPLE concerning EVIL.” We will follow these two commands in our answer by “testing the spirits” and if we find the “spirit is not of God” we will “expose the evil without going into all the details of their false teaching.”

Without knowing exactly what fellowship you are referring to; I am going to assume it may be the “The Church of the Almighty God” which is also known as “Eastern Lightning.” This fellowship was formed in China in 1991 and their main teaching is that “Jesus Christ has returned to earth and is presently living as a Chinese woman.” The name “Eastern Lightning” is based on Matthew 24:27 where Jesus said, “For as lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” Those in this group believe that this verse has been fulfilled for “God has become incarnate again as Yang Xaingbin, who calls herself Lightning Deng.” Is this woman truly “God incarnate?” Is she the fulfillment of Matthew 24:27? We must now test this spirit by the Word of God.

Before I quote two passages of Scripture which will clearly expose this woman as a FRAUD and thus a “DECEIVING spirit,” the fact that Jesus referred to HIMSELF in Matthew 24:27 as the SON of MAN proves that HE will come again. He is not coming back as a “woman,” but as a “Man.” Now I will quote a crystal-clear passage that will refute this evil teaching. In Acts 1:9-12a, “Now when HE (Jesus) had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received HIM out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, ‘Men of Galilee, who do you stand gazing up into heaven? This SAME JESUS, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw HIM go into heaven. Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet.” Could words be simpler and clearer than these? This “same Jesus” that the disciples had walked on earth with for over 3 years and had seen Him ascend to heaven, will come again from heaven and will stand on earth in the very same spot. He will stand on the “mount called Olivet,” not in some place in China. In the Old Testament we read of this in Zechariah 14:4, “And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, making a very large valley.” This will be the fulfillment of Matthew 24:27. This will be the “Second Coming of Jesus Christ.” It is not a “second incarnation of God;” it is the “same Jesus” that was here on earth coming to judge the world and to establish HIS 1,000-year kingdom on earth (see Revelation 19:11-20:6).

My advice to you in closing is this; you should see from the plain scriptures presented to you that you have been “having fellowship with a cult” that is denying the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. This woman who claims to be “God incarnate” is either “self-deceived and deceiving others,” or is “knowingly deceiving others for personal gain.” My prayer for you is that you will abandon this cult, put your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior (John 3:18, 36; Acts 16:31), and then learn the truth of the “Second Coming of Jesus Christ” who will come in power and glory to set up His kingdom (see Matthew 24:29-44; 25:31-46; 1 Thessalonians 3:13; 2 Thessalonians 1:3-10; 2 Peter 3:1-9).  (DO)  (675.3)
