A SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card is a physical card with a chip that is inserted into mobile devices. As we shall see, once the “mark of the beast” is implemented, his “mark” (666) will be inserted into one’s “right hand or in their forehead” (Revelation 13:16). So, it’s obvious the SIM card will NOT be the “mark of the beast.” Interestingly, I just read that the famous Bill Gates “envisions a future where electronic tattoos, which function as subdermal sensors, will replace smartphones for communication and health monitoring” and that these “Electronic tattoos are soft, wearable devices with integrated sensors that attach to the skin.” Supposedly they will be implanted on one’s HAND, which some connect with Revelation 13:16.  We shall also see that the mark of the beast will not be implemented until the BEAST and the ANTICHRIST are revealed, which will be during the coming Tribulation Period after the Rapture of the Church has taken place, so any guess as to what the MARK will be is mere speculation.

You will be able to read quite a few answers on this subject. You will see very clearly that this is yet in the future and the number 666 will then be understood by all living at that time.

In Revelation chapter 13 we see TWO BEASTS that speak of TWO MEN who will form an alliance with each other to rule over the world. The FIRST BEAST is a “political leader” who will arise out of the Revived Roman Empire (see Daniel 7:15-25) and he will be worshipped as a political genius and charismatic leader, yet he will seek to destroy all believers in Christ on the earth (see 13:1-8).

The SECOND BEAST is a “religious leader” who will arise out of the “land of Israel” and he will be worshipped as Israel’s Messiah and the whole world will worship him as well. He is the infamous ANTICHRIST spoken of by the Lord Jesus in John 5:43 and by the Apostles John and Paul in 1 John 2:18 and 2 Thessalonians 2:3-8. He is also called the FALSE PROPHET (Revelation 19:20 & 20:10) for he will tell lies to convince people to worship the First Beast as we see in Revelation 13:13-18:

“He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. And he deceived those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the BEAST, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an IMAGE TO THE BEAST who was wounded by the sword and lived. He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive A MARK ON THEIR RIGHT HAND OR ON THEIR FOREHEADS, that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the NUMBER of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.”

Again, believers living right now will not be here when this happens, so it would be pure speculation as to what the number 666 means. Only those who are “under the spell of the Antichrist and bowing to the dictatorship of the Satan-possessed Beast,” will learn what this number means. We can say this though, “six” is the number of “man” (as we just read in 13:18), and “three” is the number of “manifestation,” and in this BEAST people will see, as another has said, “the full manifestation of what is in the heart of man—man’s last effort to attain to divinity and deity, to rob God of His glory and to exalt himself.”  (DO)  (690.5)
