Can God heal and restore a person’s physical parts, such as teeth, so that he can have the missing teeth?
In Matthew 19:23-25, Jesus was discussing with his disciples how difficult it is for a rich person to be saved since they tend to trust in their possessions instead of in God. However, the Lord explained that it is still possible for a rich person to be saved. As Jesus said to his disciples in verse 26, “With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Since all things are possible with God, he is able to heal and restore a person’s physical parts, including their teeth.
God cares about every one of our problems. He wants us to pray to Him about everything that causes us concern. As we read in 1 Peter 5:7, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” Let us also remember what we read in James 5:16-18, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.”
Sometimes the Lord’s answer to one of our prayers is “No, I love you too much.” or “Not yet.” If the Lord chooses to not heal a person’s teeth, then that person is in good company. The Apostle Paul also had a physical problem that God did not heal. We read about it in 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, “Because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me—to keep me from exalting myself! Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me. And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong” (NASB). This is a lesson that we all need to learn. God’s grace is sufficient to help us through every trial of our lives. When we are physically or emotionally weak in some way, we can find our strength in our Almighty God. He helps us through every storm of life, and then He gets all the glory as we depend on Him.
On a more practical side, there is no shame in going to a dentist to receive help for teeth problems. The Lord Jesus Himself supported going to doctors in Matthew 9:12, when He said, “They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.” May the Lord encourage you and give you strength and wisdom for each trial that comes your way.
