I have recently lost the father of my son. I believe in God, and I’m not angry at him. I’m finding it hard to accept my partner’s passing. Part of me blames myself. I wish I could turn back the clock and do things differently. Can you please help with scriptures that are going to help me understand my partner’s death, that is going to comfort me and help me feel better?

For me, it is a sin to cut off Christian friendships. I did it in the past and I feel it was not right. The Lord Jesus wants us to be at peace with everyone and love everyone as yourself. I know that God forgives me, but does He want me to go to every person and explain myself and try to have them back in my life?

Does Scripture ever tell us to cease from praying for a loved one? I don’t believe so. What I’ve found in Scripture is to pray without ceasing. I pray for salvation for my unsaved family almost daily. But I know those who ‘feel’ that God has stopped directing them to pray for someone.

I believe in God but I’m having a hard time having blind faith in him. The Bible leaves me with more questions than answers. I live in the south and it’s hard to ask questions without being judged and told to read the Bible. I do know that if I keep on praying the Lord will guide me. The 21st century is very different than Jesus’ time. How do I know when I read the bible whether I should read it as an absolute truth that I should follow today or as a contextual truth? For instance, Leviticus 19:28 speaks of tattoos and cutting the flesh as instruments of worshipping false gods. That is not why people get tattoos today.
