If our sins have been forgiven us the day we confessed Jesus as our lord, why does Jesus teach us to pray, “Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.”? Does this mean that we are not yet forgiven by the first confession?

When praying for a non-believer, let’s say they are sick, should we always lead them into the prayer of salvation? I haven’t come across any scenario in the Bible where someone was led into repentance before they were prayed for.

My mum went to be with the Lord last week after a long illness. She was 85 years and loved the Lord even at her last minute. Two weeks before her passing we called the bishop that baptized her. The bishop, after praying, said the Lord had healed my mum. He even told us to read Psalm 30:2, “O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.” He informed us after three days my mother would recover fully. Sadly, she did not recover. My question is why did the Lord say that he had healed my mum and after took her away?
