Let’s examine Scriptures regarding what this influencer teaches to see if he is correct and then we’ll consider Scriptures to see what a believer’s life should look like and if he should have a public ministry on social media. His teaching about one not needing to PRAY nor ASK God for forgiveness to be saved and forgiven IS CORRECT. No where in the New Testament can we find one “praying to be saved and asking God for forgiveness.” Here are clear examples of the Apostles Peter and Paul preaching the gospel and telling sinners what they must do.

Peter preached, “To Him (Jesus Christ) all the prophets bear witness that EVERYONE THAT BELIEVES ON HIM will receive through His name remission of sins” (Acts 10:43…Darby Version). Peter laid down one condition for forgiveness; the sinner MUST BELIEVE ON CHRIST. In other words, they must believe His work on the cross was sufficient to save them and give them forgiveness. He said NOTHING about praying or asking God to forgiven them. This rules out the popular (but unscriptural) “sinner’s prayer” where one is given a simple prayer to recite and then they are assured by the preacher (but not by God) that they have been saved. Paul preached, “Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and BY HIM EVERYONE WHO BELIEVES is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses” (Acts 13:38-39…. NKJV). Like Peter, Paul said the one thing a sinner must do to be forgiven is to BELIEVE ON CHRIST. Later, in Acts 16:30, a man asked Paul, “What must I do to be saved?” Paul replied, “BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, and you will be saved” (verse 31).

Again, you will never read in Scripture of one “preaching the gospel” and “then telling sinners to pray to ask for forgiveness.” Christ has indeed “finished the work to save us on the cross” (John 19:30) and now God commands the sinner TO BELIEVE IT. You never mentioned whether this influencer preaches that “the sinner must believe on Christ.” If he doesn’t preach this vital truth, then he is most definitely a false teacher and may be one who believes that EVERYONE WILL BE SAVED AND FORGIVEN. We call this error “universalism.” This error is refuted by many verses which teach us that the unbeliever is CONDEMNED and God’s WRATH will abide on them forever in the lake of fire (see John 3:18 & 36; Revelation 20:15).

Now let’s address his “cursing.” If, by cursing, he actually “takes the Lord’s Name in vain” by saying “Jesus Christ in anger” or by wishing “God would damn someone,” this is very serious and hardly the language that should come out of a true believer’s mouth. I have seen true believers who were so guilty of this in their past life, that it took some time for them to be delivered from this. But they were very convicted of this and knew it was dishonoring to the Lord and a very bad testimony to the world. Until they were delivered from this, I can’t imagine them starting a public ministry on social media. If you read 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 you will see many dishonoring lifestyles that characterize people before they are saved. Then in verse 11 it says, “And such WERE SOME OF YOU.     But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of God.” The one who has truly BELIEVED ON CHRIST has a new STANDING before God (washed, sanctified, justified) and that should be “reflected in their life.” The former lifestyles of sin and degradation “should drop off” so it can be said of them, “such WERE some of you.” I’m not saying they are perfect, but there will be a definite desire to be delivered from sinful habits and as they look to the Lord for deliverance, He will “set them free” (see John 8:30-36). In closing, I do not believe this man was “called of God” to have this public ministry online while he is obviously a bad testimony with “his tongue” (see James 3:1-12).  (DO)  (735.3)
