The Bible says in Proverbs 18:22 “He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord.” Why is a wife referred to as a thing in the above scripture? Why did the Holy Spirit purposely allow the writer to use the word “thing” instead of “person”?

Can you explain to me Leviticus 25:5-6? Verse 5 says not to reap the aftergrowth nor gather the grapes from untrimmed vines. But then, verse 6 says you shall have the Sabbath products of the land for food. Verse 5 just said not to reap what comes up (we’d call ‘volunteers’ from seed of previous year) or gather from untrimmed vines…so if you aren’t allowed to reap or gather, how can you have the products from the sabbath year for food?

“Everything has already been decided. It was known long ago what each person would be. So there’s no use arguing with God about your destiny.” (Ecclesiastes‬ ‭6:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬). Can you explain this verse because what I’m getting is everything is out of our control which basically removes the point and power of prayer? Why do we pray if it’s going to happen regardless?‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
