Sadly, some consider the first 11 chapter of Genesis to be a fable (not really true), but a way to bring us from creation to the period after the flood.  I think the best way to see if these eleven chapters are true is to see what is said about them in other parts of the Bible.

Isaiah 45:18, “For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.”  Isaiah, in his writings, confirmed that God created the heavens and the earth as was stated in Genesis 1:1.

Exodus 20:11, “For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”  This portion emphasizes the truth we get from Genesis 1:1-2:3, how the Lord created heaven and earth in six days and rested on the seventh day.

1 Timothy 2:13, “For Adam was first formed, then Eve.” Paul, the apostle reflects the truth given to us in Genesis 1:26-27 and Genesis 2:21-23 of the creation of Adam and Eve.

2 Corinthians 11:3, “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”  Here, Paul speaks of the truth of how the serpent tempted Eve while in the Garden of Eden as we read in Genesis 3:1-7.

2 Peter 2:5, “(God) spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly.”  Peter the apostle speaks of the truth of Noah and the great flood that the Lord brought upon the world.

Here are just five examples of the Bible verifying the truth of the first eleven chapters of the Bible.  There are many, many more examples that could be given, but I believe this should be sufficient.

Before closing, let us consider 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “ALL SCRIPTURE IS GIVEN BY INSPIRATION OF GOD, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”  Every word in the original Word of God was inspired by God, Himself.  Moses wrote the first eleven chapters of Genesis under the inspiration of God.  Psalm 119:160 says of the Lord, “THY WORD IS TRUE from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.”  Every word of God is true…even the book of Genesis in its entirety.  (CC)  (541.6)
